Amrut Intermediate Sherry reminds me of a luxurious dessert.  It’s packed full of rich dark fruits and heavy baking spices but still has the caramel, oak, and vanilla you’d find from an American Bourbon cask.  This pour reminds me of eating a piece of rich Black Velvet Cake with blackberry jelly between each of its layers.

It’s truly a decadent dessert whisky that I think everyone would enjoy.

Appearance: Golden Amber

Nose: Caramel, toasted oak, dark fruits, black cherry, chocolate-covered raisins, vanilla, black velvet cake, light hints of smoke, citrus, anise seed, baking spices

Palate: Baked blackberry pie, caramel, honey, light oak, hints of smokiness, rich spices, tobacco, anise seed, black licorice

Finish: Long heavy finish with a beautiful oily and buttery mouthfeel that lasts a very long time – leaves you with rich dark fruits, vanilla, and black licorice flavors with hints of oak, smokiness, tobacco, and a wide array of baking spices and lingering pepper on the tail end
